PET THERAPY - HMP, Inverness
HMP, Inverness has a wide range of individuals within its walls, many of these have mental health problems, to this end we have to offer a range of interventions to meet their needs, and of which it is hoped would be the use of P.A.T. dogs. This could be done on a 1-1 or group basis dependant on the needs of the individual.
The prisoner group also have a large number of pet owners amongst them, they may not understand or know the appropriate way to look after these animals, it is hoped that we could run educational sessions on pet care and dog training.
THE ROLE: To offer therapeutic interventions to the prisoner group through the ufe of Pet Therapy. This will range from these with an identified mental health problem (1-1 or via a group setting) or to a wider range of prisoners in relation to appropriate pet care.
2 hours each afternoon (Mon-Fri)
