Scottish Accessible Information Forum 2014 conference
'Bringing our information into the 21st century'
Date: Monday 27th October, 10.00am - 4.00pm
Venue: Thistle Hotel, Cambridge Street, Glasgow, G2 3NH
What is the conference about?
This conference will explore how we can ensure the information we provide is accessible to everyone, particularly people with disabilities.
The way we provide our information is really important. Get it right and our message is received clearly and effectively, attracting new people to our organisations and ensuring our existing stakeholders stay connected to what we are doing. Get it wrong and we risk excluding significant sections of our target audiences from being involved in our work or from accessing our services.
Join SAIF for a day of information, ideas and discussion, where you will:
Gain a greater understanding of what accessible information is and why it is important
Learn about some of the work already happening to improve information provision
Discuss the opportunities and challenges that our increasingly digital society brings us
Network with others to share ideas and experiences
Find out more about the support available from SAIF
Who should attend?
Organisations interested in ensuring their information is accessible for their intended audiences
Those whose work involves raising awareness and understanding of the information needs of the people they support
People with information needs interested in sharing their ideas and experiences and supporting SAIF's work to improve the quality of information provision
Anyone who wants to find out more about what accessible information is and why it is important
