Volunteer Buddy - Highland Homeless Trust

Ref 40 - 1341

The Highland Homeless Trust is looking for volunteer's to buddy up with a variety of Service Users. It is preferred the person lives within the Highland area.

A Buddy would get to know the client, build up a working relationship with them and would be interested in some of the things that they like to do such as going for a short walk, going for light refreshments and going to a leisure activity etc. Occasional outings could be organised as appropriate. The work would depend on what the person needed e.g. going swimming weekly with the service user. The Buddy would work with the service user's support worker and Unit Manager liaising and discussing any issues. The Buddy would keep a record of their work. When required the Buddy may have access to the Trust vehicle for outings. All trust Drivers must have a valid driving licence. The driver must be over 25 years old.

(The Buddy could meet with the person in their own accommodation, or somewhere outwith their home base. It would be wherever was suitable for the person and the buddy's needs.)
