Visitor/Befreinder - Visiting Service for the North of Scotland

Ref 44 -1765

Loneliness and isolation are one of the greatest problems that older people have. We arrange for a visitor to any person wishing one. The visitor will have similar interests to the client and after an initial meeting it will be decided by the visitor and the co-ordinator if they wish to continue visiting the client. One hour per week or fortnight is the minimum commitment.

Over a period of time once the client and the visitor get to know each other great friendships can develop which can make a significant difference to both parties. It should develop into a pleasurable experience rather than a chore.

(Anywhere in the Highland region BUT usually in the local area where the visitor resides)
