Outreach Volunteer - Diabetes UK Scotland (Nairn)

Distribute Choices Project leaflets and posters in your local community. The locations will range from local GP surgeries, Diabetes clinics, pharmacies, libraries, community centres supermarkets, colleges, schools, places of work and other public places, and at events. You display and distribute the promotional materials in your own time and at your own pace.

Generally we will be looking for volunteers to:
• Support the local Lead volunteer
• Identify and set up opportunities to have a stall and exhibit the leaflets to promote the project
• Engage members of the general public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes, the Patient Summary and Diabetes UK
• Offer appropriate Diabetes UK publications/materials
• Recruit people with diabetes to participate in the project
• To motivate people who have diabetes to access and use their Patient Held record
(It is anticipated that the activities will take place in your local area, however you will be invited to take part in the national events e.g. the Volunteer Conference and Awards ceremonies which take place at various locations around Scotland each year.)
