Ref 40 - 328
This is not only a great opportunity to help elderly people but to do something which you will really enjoy, and you can do it from your home. You will be given a list of clients, hosts and drivers and you have to arrange for them to go out:
1. One Sunday afternoon a month usually to a private house for a cup of tea and a chat. The visit will last no longer than 2 hours.
2. One weekday afternoon a fortnight or month to a venue where they will reminisce, have a cup of tea and a chat and finish up with a good old fashioned sing song.
The Co-ordinator arranges the monthly outings, rebooking the annual host schedule and is the main contact for the group’s volunteer drivers and hosts. Co-ordinators – with help from the Development Officer if needed – can welcome new volunteers into the group and can meet and assess new older members prior to them joining the group. It would be beneficial for all if the Co-ordinator could manage to some of the outings as well (a few co-ordinators combine this with driving).
(In the Inverness and Easter Ross areas at present)
