Ward Clerk - Highland Hospice

The Ward Clerk’s desk is based in the In Patient Unit and is a key role which exists to assist the clinical staff with administrative duties within the Unit.

Main responsibilities:
 • Meet and greet patients’ visitors
• Make internal and external telephone calls
• Take incoming calls by telephone and refer calls to appropriate clinical staff
• Fax appointments
• Arrange patient transport if requested by clinical team
• Arrange nurse cover if requested by nursing team
• Photocopy documentation including prescriptions
• Carry out general administrative duties at the request of the clinical team.
