Peer Speaker - Help the Aged

An opportunity for older people to receive training to increase their confidence and knowledge of particular revelant topics, in order to pass this information on to groups through giving talks.

Feedback through Help the Aged from older peoples groups and forums have shown that people respond better to information given by peers. They feel the person may have better understanding of their own situation. Therefore Help the Aged have started a Peer Speaking Project which includes the Highland area. We are aiming to recruit older volunteers locally and offer training and support. Volunteers will then go on to give talks to local groups.
