The main purpose of this role is to provide volunteers to assist visually impaired people with assistance to undertake small tasks in and around the home and garden.
Responsibilities of the Volunteer
•To be familiar with Sight Action’s policies and procedures for volunteers
•To strive at all times to improve the quality of service provided
•To ensure the confidentiality of the person you work with at all times except in exceptional circumstances
•To take part in regular support meetings, feeding back any issues or concerns that you may have, both with the befriendee or personally
•To be involved in evaluating the service
•To meet with the user at the mutually agreed time and to be respectful at all times
•To inform the Volunteer Coordinator/member of Sight Action staff if you are unable to meet with your befriendee as arranged.
•To adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct
