Brain Injury Charity Volunteer - Headway Highland (Nairn)

Ref 44 - 1588

A person who can relate to those with head injuries to provide a sympathetic understanding of their problems; have vision to generate new ideas; ability to organise activities when necessary.

This Scottish charity (SC 023551) based in the Highlands, affiliated to Headway – the brain injury association, is going through a crucial development stage in its history. A recent skills audit of the current trustees identified a need for more volunteers of various experiences.
The charity’s objectives include improving the welfare of people who have suffered brain injury and to provide support to their carers. The group is currently expanding its services to areas outwith Inverness, the first such support group having been established in Fort William recently with Wick to follow later this calendar year. Further such groups are planned for Skye, Oban and Ullapool before the end of 2013. The longer term vision is for a day centre probably based in Inverness.
